Story: Children’s play

This toy Batmobile car from 1966 was based on the car used in the Batman television series. It was produced to coincide with the release of Batman: the movie in 1966. The introduction of television to New Zealand in the 1960s led to the release of a plethora of toys based on shows such as Batman, the Lone Ranger, Thunderbirds, Bewitchedand Bonanza!
