Clockwork Mickey Mouse (2nd of 4)

Clockwork Mickey Mouse

This wind up xylophone-playing Mickey Mouse toy was manufactured in the 1950s. Toys based on Walt Disney's cartoon characters such as Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck became enormously popular in New Zealand from the 1930s onward. Originally promoted through movies and comic books, they received a further boost with the introduction of television in the 1960s.
