Andrew Marck pitches for Howick-Pakuranga against Westcity-Metro in the New Zealand Baseball Club Championship final at Crossfields Reserve, Auckland, in March 2012. Howick-Pakuranga won the game and the title. Baseball grew in popularity in New Zealand in the early years of the 21st century, particularly in Auckland. Overarm pitching is one of the features that distinguishes baseball from softball.
