Waitangi Day

Waitangi Day

The anniversary of the signing of the Treaty of Waitangi on 6 February 1840 is New Zealand’s national day. A great variety of events are staged up and down the country on Waitangi Day. Near Ōamaru in 2002, locals assembled among the spectacular limestone formations of North Otago for their celebration. This event was organised by the Waitaha Taiwhenua O Waitaki Trust Board.
