In 1965 the 11th conference of the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association was held in Wellington. The delegates are shown here grouped on the steps of Parliament. The association was formed in 1911, and was known as the Empire Parliamentary Association until 1948. It promoted parliamentary democracy and human rights, and remained active in the 2000s.
