Huts for VD patients (2nd of 2)

In 1916 the New Zealand camp at Codford included hospital huts, laid out according to the plan shown here. The huts known as the no. 11 camp included a number for patients with venereal disease (VD), coloured red on the plan. Up to 286 could be accommodated. The huts were separated from other areas by barbed wire, preventing the general convalescent patients from associating with those who had VD.
