Story: Triathlon and multisport

Elite women’s triathlon, 2010

The transitions between the swimming and cycling legs of a triathlon, and then from the cycling to the running, are often the crucial moments in a race. In this clip competitors leave the water and race to begin the cycle leg. The competition was the Elite Women’s Triathlon, part of the Contact Triathlon Series, and was held at Takapuna, Auckland, on 21 February 2010. Vicky Holland from England, who was first from the water on to Takapuna Beach, went on to win the event, with Andrea Hewitt from New Zealand coming second.
