Surfbreaker, 2011

Competitors set off on the swim leg at the start of the 2011 Surfbreaker Triathlon, held on 27 December each year at Mt Maunganui. This triathlon began in 1985 and attracts entrants of a range of abilities and ages. In 2012 it included a distance sprint with the standard triathlon distances (750-metre swim, 20-kilometre cycle, 5-kilometre run), a team sprint of the same distances, a super sprint of half the distances and a duathlon with a 3-kilometre run, a 20-kilometre cycle and another 5-kilometre run.
