Kiwi's storming run from last to first in the 1983 Melbourne Cup has gone down in the annals of this famous race as the most astounding finish ever. Farm-trained in Waverley by his owner, Snow Lupton, Kiwi epitomised the rugged, determined New Zealand stayer from a humble background.
