Cultural challenges

Migrant parents face extra challenges if they try to instil the culture and values of their homeland in their children, who want to be like their New Zealand friends. Roseanne Liang's autobiographical 2005 documentary Banana in a nutshell charts how she convinced her Chinese parents to accept her European boyfriend (later her husband) Stephen. In this clip, her sister muses on the difficulties migrant parents encounter in a new land.
