Story: Arable farming

Modern cultivation

Modern tractor drivers are protected from the weather and dust by an air-conditioned cab which contains a radio and music player, and in this case also a place for the dog – the ultimate in a farmer’s ‘big boy’s toy’. These tractors are large enough to pull complex cultivation machinery – such as this reversible seven-furrow plough and disc unit, which can do most of the work of preparing a cereal paddock for resowing.
