Ōtira viaduct

Image
Ōtira viaduct

The Ōtira viaduct was completed in 1999. It traverses the old landslides on spans supported by three pillars. Future rock falls triggered by earthquakes may bring rubble down the screes into the riverbed, but the road above is out of harm’s way.
