Vineyard post shattered by lightning

Vineyard post shattered by lightning

Fraser O’Connor and Greg Rush show a split vineyard post at Meadowbank Farm in Marlborough in September 2005. The pair had been working in the vineyard when a southerly blast brought hail. Shortly after, four lightning bolts landed close by. This post was thrown 10 metres into the air, then scattered in pieces over a 30-metre radius.
