Port of Timaru

Some provincial ports, such as Nelson, New Plymouth, Napier, Nelson and Timaru (pictured here), made a comeback in the 1980s when facilities were built for containers. Timaru was rebranded as PrimePort Timaru, and developed direct shipping connections with Asia.
