Story: Classical musicians

Denis Dowling

Denis Dowling

Denis Dowling as Dandini, the prince's valet, is shown canoodling with Thisbe (mezzo-soprano Anna Pollak), one of the ugly sisters, in a 1959 Sadler's Wells production of Rossini's La Cenerentola, based on the story of Cinderella. Dowling was renowned both for his outstanding baritone voice and his inspired acting.
