Strengthening the Thorndon overbridge

The Wellington Fault passes through the 1.3-kilometre-long Thorndon overbridge, making it one of the most vulnerable parts of the roading system around Wellington. A detailed seismic evaluation was undertaken, and the bridge was strengthened to minimise damage from a future earthquake.
