Queen Elizabeth II and the arts council charter, 1963

In 1960 the government set up an arts council, which three years later it renamed the Queen Elizabeth II Arts Council in honour of the queen, who was then visiting New Zealand. She is seen here with the council's charter at a royal performance in Auckland in 1963.
