Rose Tuhiwai

Rose Tuhiwai

Many Māori serve overseas both in the New Zealand armed forces and with voluntary organisations. In this photograph Rose Tuhiwai (centre right) teams up with Nosipho Magaqa at the Nomvume Primary School, Zwelitsha, Eastern Cape, South Africa. She had gone there as a Volunteer Service Abroad (VSA) volunteer in the early 2000s.
