Early netball game

Early netball game

Girls play netball (then called basketball) at an unidentified school in 1910. In the early days the basket was literally a basket and had to be tipped to release the ball. Later the basket was replaced by a hoop. Netball became identified as a girls' sport in much the same way as rugby was a boys' sport.
