Story: Domestic recreation and hobbies

Records and magazines, 1961 (2nd of 2)

Records and magazines, 1961

Lybia Huata (left), Allies Ormsby and Aroha Te Aho relax in their Wellington flat one weekend in 1961, listening to records and reading magazines. The vinyl record and covers on the floor are from American record labels, so they are listening to American music, probably rock 'n' roll or twist. The Woman's Own magazine advised them on how to find harmony in marriage and 'which foods would make them lovely'.
