Musical evening, 1890 (1st of 2)

Musical evening, 1890

In the 19th and early 20th centuries musical evenings were a popular way to make your own fun. At the time many people learned to play musical instruments as children, so they were at least passable musicians as adults. Here two couples enjoy a musical evening in 1890. The woman standing is probably singing to the piano and violin.
