Winning World Sevens 2007

Gordon Tietjens, coach of the New Zealand sevens team, holds aloft the IRB World Sevens Series trophy at the end of the Scotland Sevens at Murrayfield, Edinburgh, on 3 June 2007. New Zealand won the final of the tournament against Samoa and the overall series title. Tietjens had a remarkable record, leading the team to 12 of the 17 championships contested during his tenure. He was knighted in the Queen's Birthday honours in 2013.
