Michael Campbell clinched the 2005 US Open golf tournament at Pinehurst, North Carolina, with an 8-metre putt on the second-to-last hole. ‘I had a three-shot lead going to the last [hole] and I thought to myself: “Just keep your focus, keep your focus”. And it worked.’
