Hiha (Ngāti Rangitihi, Te Arawa) was one of New Zealand hockey's outstanding personalities. From a sporting family, she represented New Zealand internationally and served as coach, selector and administrator. In 1992 she initiated the first National Maori Hockey Tournament, since held annually.
