Competitive beard growing, 2010

Competitive beard and moustache growers Jeremy Mayall (left, with an Alaskan whaler-style beard) and Jason Hanson (right, with a Garibaldi) were photographed in 2010. The two men had a growth plan, and aimed to take the result to the World Beard and Moustache Championship. They described themselves to the Waikato Times as ‘the young guns’, saying that most people in ‘international bearding’ were over 40, with ‘years of growing beards’.
