This weevil (Oclandius cinereus) was photographed on Enderby Island in 2005 or 2006. It is one of many beetles that are endemic to the subantarctic islands. This one is common on the highlands of the Auckland and Campbell islands. It feeds on Bulbinella rossii (known in New Zealand as Māori onion), usually at night, and hides in the base of the flower during the day.
