The world's first international Twenty20 game

The first official Twenty20 international game took place between New Zealand and Australia at Eden Park, Auckland, on 17 February 2005. Australia won by 44 runs. At the time the players did not take it very seriously and the New Zealand team dressed up in the beige uniforms and hair fashions of the early 1980s. Here Brett Lee laughs at Hamish Marshall's hair. However, within a few years Twenty20 cricket had become a much more serious proposition, with players earning large sums, particularly in India.
