New Zealand Prime Minister Peter Fraser is shown here signing the United Nations Charter, in San Francisco, on 26 June 1945. The United Nations (UN) has become an extremely important body for the creation and operation of international law. UN agencies are concerned with a wide range of issues of international law, including health, food and agriculture, science and culture, human rights, refugees and international justice.
