Members of the New Zealand Olympic team exercise on board the Monowai, bound for the 1932 Los Angeles Olympics. In the days before long-distance air travel, New Zealand athletes faced lengthy sea voyages to reach the games. Maintaining fitness while on board ship was a challenge.
