Waitomo District Council long-term plan

The small fishing settlement of Marokopa, south of Kāwhia, features on the cover of the Waitomo District Council's 2009–19 long-term plan. This plan, produced by the council every six years, sets out its 'community outcomes' in areas such as cultural heritage and social harmony, visitors and tourism, and water supply.
