Japanese prisoner of war

This photograph of a Japanese prisoner of war at the Featherston camp was taken surreptitiously by a guard at the camp, Harry Hainsworth, in 1945. Japanese had been imprisoned there since September 1942. In all there were 67 deaths among the Japanese prisoners, 48 of them in a major incident in February 1943.
