Wellington city councillor Ray Ahipene-Mercer is shown here with friends at his home in Wellington's Breaker Bay. Ahipene-Mercer was first elected to Wellington City Council in a by-election in 2000. He has also worked as a musician and luthier (stringed-instrument maker).
