Swearing-in of government ministers is one of the governor-general’s more public duties. On 19 November 2008 Governor-General Anand Satyanand (seated, right) took the oaths from newly elected Prime Minister John Key (left) and his ministers. Martin Bell and Rebecca Kitteridge (both standing) from the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet help with the ceremony.
