Whatarangi Winiata

Professor Whatarangi Winiata (left) is shown at a Northland hui in 2009 with Tai Tokerau MP Hone Harawira (Ngāti Hau, Ngāti Wai, Ngāti Hine, Te Aupōuri, Ngāpuhi, Ngāti Whātua). Winiata advocated an alternative and more bicultural system of government for New Zealand.
