Hospice fundraising

Hospice fundraising

Volunteers dressed as 'Strawberry Angels' assist with a strawberry-themed festival for the Mercy Hospice in Auckland in December 2009. Commuters were encouraged to buy strawberries, ice cream and a range of other products including strawberry plants, cakes and decorations. Thirteen hospices participated in this national fundraiser. While hospices receive some public funding, they are heavily dependent on donations.
