Sporting his trademark dark glasses, National Party MP Tau Henare talks to Opposition leader John Key at Rātana , near Whanganui, in January 2007. Henare is typical of the generation of Māori leaders known as 'corporate warriors'. Previously a New Zealand First MP, he was a National MP from 2005 until 2014.
