Miss M. Wilkins (left) and Mrs E. Moore were co-managers of the New Zealand women’s hockey team which toured England and Scotland in 1953. They were described as ‘much stronger than expected … all the district teams chosen will find them strong opponents’. Of the 20 games they played, the New Zealanders won 16.
