Barun expedition: a campsite

In 1954, Edmund Hillary led a New Zealand Alpine Club expedition to the Himalayas to explore the Barun valley and climb some of the surrounding peaks. This photograph shows a camp above the Barun Glacier, with the peak Lhotse Shar (8,383 m) in the background.
