
In 1901 the Presbyterians in the south of New Zealand united with those in the north. James Gibb, moderator of the Dunedin Presbytery since 1886, was elected the first moderator of the newly united Presbyterian Church of New Zealand. Here he enjoys the garden party which was held in connection with the First General Assembly.
