Turakina Highland Games, 2007

Competitors, their families, neighbours and others of Scottish descent march in clan formation at the Turakina Highland Games in 2007. The patterns and colours of their tartan kilts, and the banners they are holding, identify the clans (equivalent to Māori tribes) with which they continue to affiliate. The games have been celebrated at Turakina, south of Whanganui, since 1864.
