Local, regional and central government politicians inspect Auckland’s Queens Wharf on an open day in 2009 – from left, Mike Lee (Auckland Regional Council), John Key (prime minister), John Banks (mayor of Auckland) and Murray McCully (Rugby World Cup minister). Queens Wharf was a centre of activity during the 2011 Rugby World Cup and then hosted cruise ships. Its redevelopment was funded by local, regional and central government.
