Trade Me homepage, 1999

In the 2000s Trade Me was regularly the most visited website in New Zealand. Second-hand goods were an important part of its business – in 2009, 52% of items listed and 60% of items sold on the site (excluding cars and property) were second hand. Though there were a number of other online trading sites, none came close to replicating Trade Me’s visitor numbers. This is the first Trade Me homepage, when it started in 1999.
