Otago Farmers’ Market

Otago Farmers’ Market

Like most stallholders at farmers’ markets, Linda McCallum of Havoc Pork believes it is important that people know where their food comes from. On their pig farm, Linda and husband Ian Jackson use no antibiotics or growth promotants. Linda featured in Homegrown, a cookbook of Otago Farmers’ Market stallholders’ recipes using their produce. The market, held on Saturday mornings, opened in the Dunedin Railway Station car park in 2003 with 23 vendors. It was organised by the Otago Farmers’ Market Trust, a charitable trust.
