Pre-school teachers

Education, especially at pre-school level, is a fast-growing sector of the workforce. Early childhood workers have a range of skills and qualifications. Here, at the Alexandra kindergarten in Central Otago, the staff include (from left) special-needs teacher Cathy Jackson, head teacher Jan Johnson, teacher Andrea Saunders and third-year student teacher Sharon McGlade from the University of Canterbury.
