Horse trekking

Horseback riding or trekking is now a popular activity for both New Zealanders and overseas tourists. This trek, from Middlemarch to Lawrence, in Central Otago, is called the Moonlighters Trail, and travels across undeveloped tussock grassland, with overnight accommodation in woolsheds.
