Tiritiri Matangi lighthouse

Takahē feed in front of the lighthouse on the island of Tiritiri Matangi – one of the few such settlements that survive in New Zealand. The lighthouse is now fully automated with solar power, and the keepers’ houses are still used by the conservation ranger and visitors to the island.
