Search dog Jack and his handler, volunteer Malcolm York, rest after an exhausting day in the bush. They were taking part in the search for an English tourist, who went missing in dense bush on the Coromandel Peninsula in April 2006 and was later found dead. Jack, an Australian cattle dog, had been trained to use his hunting instincts to find missing people, then bark to attract the attention of searchers.
