Orange-fronted parakeet

The orange-fronted parakeet has an orange band above the bill and a yellow-gold crown. This one is feeding in a mountain beech tree in the Nelson region, in 1983. By 2000 they were only found in a few valleys in Canterbury. Their status is classified as nationally critical.
