Waiheke Island

Waiheke Island

Ngāti Pāoa conquered much of Tāmaki and came to occupy land along the east coast from the Thames Estuary to the Hunua Ranges and north to Whangaparāoa. Their territory included Waiheke Island in the Hauraki Gulf, pictured here.
