YMCA

This badge shows the official crest of the Young Men's Christian Association (YMCA). The motto, 'Spirit, mind, body', surrounds the biblical reference to John 17:21 – 'that they all may be one'. The YMCA was founded in Britain in 1844 to put Christian principles into practice by developing 'a healthy spirit, mind, and body'. The New Zealand organisation was formed in Auckland in 1855.
